I agree with Mr. Anonymous, try harder. Justin, it is like anything in the Christian life, you must try really hard or else it will suck. And if you fail, you must try even harder.

Mr. Anonymous' wisdom applies to any area of your life. Are you struggling with lust? Try harder. Are you forgetting to read your Bible? Try harder. Are you being a jerk to your co-workers? Try harder.

It sums up most of life. Try harder to do what you are trying to do.

Hope you can understand this, Justin. Maybe pray about it.

humility has gone a really long way for us. not "roll over" attitudes, but humble convictions. we've got great guys on our leadership team that have brought fresh balance and perspective to the group.

one of our guys is relentless in pursuit and protection of the NightChurch vision to target disenfranchised and unchurched in our community.

another of our guys isn't concerned about looking foolish for the sake of honest, transparent, authenticity.

put some good guys around you.

I've been reading along for about a year now. I sat here thinking for a minute or two... and can't remember how I originally came across your blog--you being all the way over there on the West coast and me being in south-central Kentucky. I've had you linked from mine for quite a while, though. But I thoroughly enjoy your postings, musings and outlook on on church/life.

I thought it was a Crowdster. (Must be nice. I'm trying to start setting aside funds for a Taylor GS.) The Crowdster is a beautiful guitar, but not my cup of tea. I like 'em big, bassy and loud! I'm a J200 or old D-28 kinda guy myself.

I was blown away with NightChurch, by the way. We are experiencing (here in my community of faith) what you all went through a while back: there is a gaping hole in our "college age/young adult" demographic and something needs to be done. I know we don't need anymore of the typical ministry model, something different and innovative and authentic needs to be pursued. So I pointed our staff leadership to how you all did it: elders listened to the masses then put together a small team to pray and propose a future path. Today was only our second meeting around the idea, but thought you'd like to know that what you've done is a great precedent to follow...
