Small Town Charm - a simple song.
a few friends and i recorded a song that we play on a regular basis.
it's a cover of a classic Vineyard musical corporate worship song from 1991 by Craig Musseau. we drop-kicked his low-and-slow arrangement and took it up a notch. we call the result: "a simple song."

2 months w/o blogging? im impressed.
awesome post to get back into it ;-)
yah what's up with the no blogging anyways? Matt and I give the song two thumbs up, it's great!
album - "The Darkness Underneath?" where'd that come from? Sounds like a Frank Peretti title
yeah... here's the deal:
i was needing to come up with an "album name" for iTunes and also for the future, but was not really "into it". so i thought "Sheltonicity" would be funny because it's a hat tip to The Office [kevin's band's name is "Scrantonicity"] and we're from Shelton. i guess i'm still interested in that one, but i need some feedback.
so, that being said, the other day i saw a link from a blog to a random quote generator in the context of an album name. since i had this problem i thought i'd give it a try.
and i got this one, which i think is AWESOME:
"the quickest way to end a war is to lose it." - George Orwell
so, sam owens and daniel parsons and i were having dinner the other night and sam and i usually talk about our current music projects and i told them about my awesome album name. they agreed it was pretty sweet.
later in the conversation, daniel asked sam about the shirt he was wearing under his coat and someone said something about "the darkness underneath" or "the darkness beneath" and sam commented on how THAT would be a sweet album name.
so i was kicking it around to see how it fit.
and after that frank peretti comment, i am convinced it doesn't fit.
so i guess i'm back to the sweet war quote or Sheltonicity...
anyone have any comments or thoughts on those?
or maybe another alternative?
amos hathaway, an old friend used to recommend an album title of "louder than hell".
but that was in the 90s.
I do not know about the album name but I liked the song. You are sounding pretty good. I'm impressed!
notice the trend of where has Justin gone? :) So glad you're back. LOVED the song, I miss your voice a ton! I didn't realize how much I miss YouthChurch until now. Sorry I was lame the last year of it...
